The Department of Neurosurgery at Ali Fatima Hospital / Abu Umara Medical and Dental College (AUMDC) Lahore is a 10-bedded Neurosurgery Department established on 13-11-2023. We provide Outpatient Services 6 days a week from 08:00AM to 02:00PM Monday to Saturday. The Department has facilities for performing Major, Intermediate and Minor Neurosurgery Operations for Diseases of Brain and Spine requiring Operative Intervention e.g. Brain Tumors, Hydrocephalus, Brain Hemorrhage, Brain Infections requiring surgical management, CSF Rhinorrhoea ; Spinal Tumors, Intervertebral Disc Diseases of the Spine, Degenerative Diseases of the Spine, Infections of the Spine requiring surgery, Cauda Equina Sndorme etc.
At the Department of Neurosurgery we have the facility of State-of-The-Art Modular Operation Theatre, Operating Microscope, Magnifying Surgical Loupes, C-Arm Fluoroscope, Modern Drill System, Latest Craniotomy Set and Laminectomy Set, Fine Microneurosurgery Set, Rhonton Dissector System for Microsurgery etc. We also have Modern CT and MRI in our Radiology Department as diagnostic modalities for the diagnosis of the disease of the barin and spine requiring operation Neurosurgical Intervention.
The Department of Neurosurgery has the support of dedicated Medical and Surgical ICUs for pre-operative and post-operative care of the Neurosurgery patients.
Since Inauguration we have seen more than 1000 patients in the Neurosurgery OPD and we have done Major surgeries for Brain and Spine with excellent outcome.Our future vision is to start Neurosurgery residency programme at the Department of Neurosurgery Ali Fatima Hospital /AUMDC Lahore including MS Neusrosurgery (UHS) and FCPS Neurosurgery (CPSP).
