Abu Umara Medical and Dental College, a constituent college of Green International University, hosted a 'White Coat' ceremony for its new batch of MBBS students on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. The management of Green International University, of which Abu Umara Medical and Dental College is a constituent college, extended a warm welcome to the new class of MBBS students and congratulated the parents on this significant day in their lives. This orientation session provided new aspiring medical academics with a wealth of information to address their queries regarding the start of their journey towards becoming healthcare professionals.
Dr. Mohsin Ali Cheema (Vice Principal, AUMDC) gave a brief introduction about the 'Madina Foundation,' 'Green International University,' and 'Abu Umara Medical and Dental College' to the new students. Dr. Nazim Hayat (Vice Principal Clinical) highlighted the facilities at Ali Fatima Hospital and provided details of clinical training opportunities, offering valuable advice on serving humanity with utmost care and diligence. Dr. Tariq Bhatti (Principal, AUMDC) administered the oath to the new students and shared life-saving tips with them.
Prof. Dr. Amir Gilani (Rector, GIU) also welcomed the students and congratulated their parents on being part of this noble health profession. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal (Tamgha-i-Imtiaz & Presidential Award for Pride of Performance), Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, served as the chief guest of the ceremony and enriched the event with his thought-provoking conversation with AUMDC students. He emphasized that the white coat symbolizes a profound sense of responsibility and that the primary purpose of the medical field should be the service of mankind and humanity rather than mere pursuit of financial gain.
